Honor Moment | Grace Solar Receives RWDI Wind Tunnel Test Certification

Publish Time:2026-08-04 Sources:

Grace Solar has commissioned RWDI (Rowan Williams Davies & Irwin Inc.), a world-leading wind engineering consultancy, to conduct a comprehensive wind tunnel test for its tracking system products, including aeroelastic effect evaluation. This certification not only serves as a technical endorsement of the product's wind resistance but also demonstrates that Grace Solar mounting systems can maintain stable operation under severe wind conditions as extreme weather events become more frequent worldwide—providing a solid guarantee for the full-lifecycle safety of photovoltaic power plants.

Pressure Test in the Wind Tunnel

Wind tunnel testing is a critical method that simulates real wind field environments to verify the structural stability of PV mounting and module systems under various wind speeds and directions. In the test, the product must withstand wind speeds up to 62.6 m/s—equivalent to a Category 17 typhoon. For PV mounting systems, especially tracking systems with large east-west spans and rotational movement, strong winds can induce "vertical bending" and "torsional" deformation. Wind tunnel testing replicates these complex wind conditions to validate the structural safety margins of the mounting system.

The Touchstone Under Stringent Standards

Grace Solar's tracking systems passed the wind tunnel tests through a rigorous validation framework: evaluating structural strength, deformation, and stability under extreme wind loads in simulated severe typhoon conditions. The system demonstrated exceptional performance, withstanding extreme wind speeds up to 54 m/s. The structure remained stable without instability, deformation, or failure—proving its excellence in wind resistance, structural integrity, and long-term durability.

More Than Wind Resistance—Protecting the Full Lifecycle

Grace Solar products have already obtained TüV, UL, JIS, CE, and other international authoritative certifications, and have been tested to AS/NZS1170 standards. The successful completion of this wind tunnel test further strengthens Grace Solar's product certification system. As extreme weather becomes the new normal, wind tunnel testing serves as the essential validation to ensure mounting systems "stand firm and endure long." Grace Solar will continue to uphold more rigorous testing standards and more solid product quality, providing reliable support for every power station.
