A few days ago, Grace Solar won the order of 78MW large PV tracking project in South Africa again, which would continued to ship in November 2020.

It is understood that the climate of South Africa belongs to Savannah climate, divided into summer and winter in the whole year. The central area of South Africa is dominated by plateaus, with steep cliffs adjacent to the east and south. The terrain descends all the way inland from the towering cliffs on the outside. The geographical environment there is pretty bad, requiring higher technical for the PV tracking project. Project side, after comprehensively considering the local climate and geographic environment, power generation efficiency of the power station, tracking design stability, construction cost and other factors, finally chose the GS-light single axis tracker of Grace Solar. The R&D team of Grace Solar uses PV + battery and wireless communication technology to remotely guide customers in debugging and installation, providing comprehensive technical support for the entire project.

The stability of the tracker has been controversial comparing with the fixed mounting system. The climate and geographical environment in South Africa is extremely terrible, so how to ensure the stability and reliability of the tracking project is the top priority. After passing the RWDI wind tunnel test, the tracking system of Grace Solar further consolidated the dynamic stability of the tracking system under extreme wind load conditions by changing the aerodynamics of the structure, increasing the damping ratio, which ensured the safe, reliable and efficient operation of tracker. In addition, its annual utilization efficiency is over 98%.

It is worth mentioning that in the selection of materials, the single-axis intelligent system of Grace Solar adopts three types of material combination methods of "hot dip galvanized steel + aluminum magnesium zinc plate + aluminum profile" according to different positions and different stress states of the tracker, which not only ensures the safety of the system, but also reduces the cost of the project.

The person in charge of the project said that the completion of the PV tracking project is of great significance to the sustainable development of future energy in South Africa. Adopting the single-axis tracking system of Grace Solar, they believe that there will be better stability, reliability and efficiency in the practical application of the project. The installation cost of the project can be effectively reduced by the high preinstallation in the mounting factory. Combined with South Africa’s light, tracking system can generate more power generation, thereby effectively reducing power generation costs, saving corporate power expenses, and bringing a strong guarantee for the investment income of the project.

Grace Solar has assisted in the construction of PV power plants, improved the comprehensive utilization rate of land, and contributed to the transformation and upgrading of energy structure in South Africa. In the future, Grace Solar, as an excellent PV Mounting supplier, will continue to uphold the corporate mission of "build core competitiveness, help customers to achieve extraordinary achievement" and contribute to the development of the global PV industry.
