It allocated 645 MW of renewable energy capacity through the procurement exercise, which exceeded the 424.8 MW quota initially offered. The assigned capacity is spread across 10 wind and solar projects, with average prices being €0.0509 ($o.0533)/kWh for the PV technology and €0.0535/kW for wind power, which the Serbian government said are significantly below market levels. The Serbian authorities initially aimed to tender 124.8 MW of solar and 300 MW of wind at a maximum price of €0.072/kWh for solar projects and €0.079/kWh for wind projects. The ed developers will be awarded 15-year power purchase agreements (PPAs). The first auction secured 715 MW of projects and more than €1.1 billion of investment. Serbia recently announced the development of several large-scale solar projects, including a deal for 1 GW of solar across six sites and a 1 GW solar panel factory. In addition, work is now underway on state-owned utility Elektroprivreda Srbije’s first solar project. Figures from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) show that Serbia had cumulatively deployed 137 MW of solar by the end of 2023.
